- Corrective action · ISO 9001:2015 §10.2
Action taken to eliminate the cause of a detected nonconformity so it does not recur. Distinct from correction, which addresses the immediate effect.
- Nonconformity · ISO 9000:2015 §3.6.9
Non-fulfilment of a requirement. The requirement may come from a standard, a regulation, a customer contract, an internal procedure, or any other applicable source.
- Process approach · ISO 9001:2015 §0.3, §4.4
Treating the organisation as a network of interacting processes — each with defined inputs, outputs, owners, and performance criteria — and managing them as a system.
- Quality objective · ISO 9001:2015 §6.2
A measurable result that the organisation seeks to achieve, consistent with the quality policy and aligned with strategic direction.
- Risk-based thinking · ISO 9001:2015 §0.3.3, §6.1
An approach that requires the organisation to identify risks and opportunities relevant to the QMS and its outcomes, and to plan actions to address them.
